Interior painting that starts with a plan
Good interior painting is about two things: the right colors and clean, durable work. Most companies only handle the second. We do both. Every project can start with our $499 Paint Plan, where a designer builds a room-by-room color plan for your home, mocks it up on photos of your rooms and puts swatches on your walls. When you book the paint job, the full fee is credited. If you already know your colors, we'll skip straight to a free walkthrough and fixed quote.
We're based in Golden and paint homes across the west Denver foothills. That means we know the local housing: plaster walls downtown, 1970s split-levels, vaulted mountain great rooms, and newer builds with flat builder paint. We plan for each.
What's included
Walls
Two coats in the color and sheen from your plan, cut in by hand at ceilings and trim. We choose washable finishes for kitchens, baths, halls and kids' rooms, and softer mattes where you want depth and fewer reflections.
Ceilings
Flat ceiling paint applied to minimize lap marks, including vaulted and two-story ceilings. Popcorn or heavy-texture ceilings are evaluated during the walkthrough; older textured ceilings may need testing before being disturbed.
Trim and doors
Baseboards, casings, crown, window sills and doors in a hard-wearing enamel. Converting stained oak trim to painted trim is one of our most common requests — it involves cleaning, scuff-sanding, a bonding primer and two finish coats.
Accent walls and feature details
Deep accent colors, painted ceilings, two-tone walls and built-ins. Darker colors often need extra coats; your quote accounts for it.
Prep and drywall patching
Filling nail holes and dings, patching small to medium drywall damage, taping and re-texturing cracks, caulking gaps at trim and spot-priming repairs so they don't flash through. On pre-1978 homes, we follow lead-safe work practices — see our guide to painting pre-1978 homes in Golden.
How fixed-price quoting works
Most painting estimates are a rough guess based on a quick walk-through and a count of rooms. That's why prices creep. We take a different approach. During the walkthrough we capture a Matterport 3D scan, which gives us accurate dimensions for every wall, ceiling, window and door. From that we calculate the actual paintable surface area for each room, then apply our rates for surface type, ceiling height, color change and prep level.
The result is a quote that lists each room, its measured area, what's included and the expected days on site. If we've measured it, it's covered. The only things that change the price are changes you ask for, like adding a room. For a breakdown of typical local pricing, read how much interior painting costs in Golden.
Timeline
- Walkthrough: about 60 minutes.
- Paint Plan and quote: 5 business days (or a few days for a quote only).
- Scheduling: we'll offer start dates as soon as you approve.
- On site: most interiors take 3–6 days, depending on size, ceiling heights and prep.
- Final walkthrough: we walk every room with you and touch up anything you note before we call it done.
Colors made for foothills light
Our homes sit between roughly 5,300 and 8,300 feet. The light up here is stronger and cooler than at sea level, which shifts how paint reads. Cool grays can feel cold, saturated colors look brighter, and west-facing rooms can glow orange at sunset. We plan with that in mind — more on that in our guide to choosing paint colors for Colorado light, or our color consultation service.
