Interior Painters in Arvada, CO

From early-1900s bungalows in Olde Town to brand-new construction in Candelas and Leyden Rock, Arvada homes are all over the map. We start with a designer's color plan, then paint it on a fixed price.

Old and new Arvada

Arvada's historic core around Olde Town has bungalows, foursquares and early-20th-century homes with plaster walls and original trim. Surrounding neighborhoods filled in with 1950s–1970s ranches and tri-levels. Northwest Arvada — Ralston Valley, Leyden Rock, Candelas and nearby — is newer, with 1990s two-stories and recent construction full of builder-grade flat paint and white or gray everything.

That means two very different kinds of projects. Older homes need careful prep and often lead-safe practices. Newer homes are mostly about design: giving a builder-standard house a point of view, specifying better finishes than the original contractor did, and choosing a trim and ceiling strategy that works across open floor plans.

Color for open floor plans

New Arvada homes tend to have open kitchen, dining and living spaces with tall ceilings and large windows. In those layouts, every wall can be seen from somewhere else, so colors need to relate to each other. We usually set one main wall color for the open core, then use the bedrooms, office, powder room and stairwell for more personality.

Light in Arvada is classic Front Range: intense and cool at midday, with west-facing rooms warming up at sunset. Flat builder paint shows every fingerprint, so we'll typically recommend upgrading to a washable matte or eggshell on walls and a harder enamel on trim and doors.

Arvada painting FAQ

My new build has flat builder paint everywhere. Is it worth repainting?

Often, yes. Upgrading to a washable finish and a designed palette makes a big difference in how the house lives day to day.

Do you work on older Olde Town homes?

Yes. We plan plaster repair and follow EPA RRP lead-safe practices on pre-1978 homes.

Can you do just a few rooms?

Yes. The Paint Plan can cover just the rooms you're painting now, with recommendations for the rest later.
