Conifer homes and what they need
Conifer's housing is mostly custom and semi-custom mountain homes built from the 1970s onward, scattered through areas like Aspen Park, Pleasant Park, Kings Valley and the roads off Highway 73 and Highway 285. Plenty have vaulted ceilings, walk-out lower levels, wood stoves and a mix of drywall and wood surfaces. Lower levels tend to be darker and cooler; main levels often have big windows aimed at the views.
That combination — bright upstairs, dim downstairs — is exactly where a single paint color fails. The Paint Plan gives each level its own logic while keeping the house cohesive, usually by holding one trim color and one ceiling color throughout and adjusting wall colors by exposure.
Color at 8,000 feet
At around 8,000 feet, Conifer gets some of the most intense ultraviolet light in our service area. Bright colors can look harsher, and the snow-reflected light in winter pushes everything cooler. We steer away from stark, blue-leaning whites and toward whites with a little warmth, along with grounded neutrals and muted greens and blues that feel calm rather than chilly.
Rooms with wood stoves or heavy wood finishes get colors chosen to sit alongside those tones. Bedrooms on the lower level often benefit from a slightly deeper, cozier shade instead of fighting for brightness they'll never have.
Scheduling and logistics
Because Conifer homes can be 30–45 minutes from our base, we schedule full days on site and bring everything needed for the job in one trip. We plan around winter road conditions and confirm access the day before. Your fixed quote includes the number of days on site, materials, and any equipment for tall ceilings, so travel never shows up as an extra line item later.
- Main-level great rooms with vaulted ceilings
- Walk-out basements and family rooms
- Bedrooms, baths and hallways in one coordinated plan
- Primer and paint over previously stained trim
